#Boom – Mobile Ads Double for Video Network
It may be only one platform, but video advertising network YuMe’s second quarter numbers have reinforced the notion that smartphone and tablets ads are growing at an exponential rate.
Mobile impressions nearly doubled in the second quarter. Mobile ads accounted for seven percent of all ad impressions for YuMe, up from 4%. While that may not sound like much, when you consider that they serve about 750 million video ads each month across more than 2000 publishers, it is clear that mobile ads are gaining traction, and doing so quickly.
Consumer packaged goods companies were the top spenders, with 23% of ad dollars spent, with health and pharmaceutical second at 19%
YuMe shows that 25 to 54 year-olds remain the top demographic sought by marketers, comprising 22% of RFP (Request for Proposals), up six percentage points. Online videos are slowly becoming a gaining a broader audience, and marketers are more frequently using online ads to attract that broad base.
Broken down by gender, Females 25-54 were easily the top female demographic sought at 44%, while Males ages 18-49 were the top requested male demographic.

Pre-Roll completion rates rose slightly, to 69% on average, Completion rates were also up for 15-second ads and for ads longer than 30 seconds.
